The animation images are Netscape animated GIFs, one frame every 0.75 second from 00 to 120 hours at 6 hour intervals. The contour levels in the
animation images are from 0 to 20 ft. for Sig. Wave Height and the Peak Wave Direction directional arrows are omitted to improve clarity, they do not
show up well within the smaller format.

Peak Wave Period and peak wave direction plots facilitate seeing swell fronts as they move accross an ocean basin.

Maps are initialized twice daily at 00:00hrs GMT and 12:00hrs GMT with NOAA/NCEP/OMB 3rd generation WAM Wave data (was swell data). These are
NOT official NOAA/NCEP/OMB products. They are created from OMB WAM output and should not be used to make any navigational or other descisions
that might endanger public safety or put anyone at significant risk.
